Buddy Holly And Roy Orbison ‘Rock ’N’ Roll Dream’ Hologram Tour Announces Dates

203

Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison will hit the road together this fall. The two popular guitar players from rock’s early years are still very much deceased, but their musical spirits (and likenesses) live on in the form of holograms, which will visit venues across North American this fall for when their previously announced Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream Tour launches on September 19th in San Francisco.

According to the joint announcement from both estates of Holly and Orbison on Tuesday, the 46-date tour will begin with a show at San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts and continues throughout the fall months before wrapping following a digital performance on November 20th at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, ON. In addition to digital projections of the show’s two star attractions in sync with remastered audio, the actual performance will also include a full live band and back-up singers.

The run of shows will be directed by Eric Schaeffer, who was at the helm of the 2018 Roy Orbison hologram tour.

“Working on the original Roy Orbison hologram tour last year was something special and to be able to do it again and add someone like Buddy Holly into the mix is very exciting,” Schaeffer said in a statement about the forthcoming fall run. “This show will be a celebration that blends these men’s similar styles into one unforgettable evening that audiences will remember for a long time to come.”

“Dad jammed with Buddy in Lubbock, Texas, and helped change music history by turning Buddy on to Norman Petty Studios; Buddy later returned the favor by recording two of Dad’s songs on his first Cricket’s album,” Roy Orbison, Jr. also mentioned in via press release. “How beyond cool and special that these two great friends, now get to tour the world together.”

Tickets for the North American fall dates go on sale this Friday, June 21st. Head here for tickets.
