Positive Legacy To Host 3 “Action Days” Coinciding With Dead & Company’s 2019 Summer Tour

111

Positive Legacy is back on the road with Dead & Company for their third straight summer tour on Participation Row. Working in conjunction with Cloud 9 Adventures, Positive Legacy coordinates environmental and humanitarian service projects fueled by the power of music and creates sustainable support through action from musicians and fans.

In addition to their nightly efforts on Participation Row, Positive Legacy is hosting three different Action Days throughout the summer, coinciding with the band’s stops in New York City (6/22), Atlanta (6/29), and Boulder (7/6). Grab your tickets to get involved here.

Last year, volunteers on Dead & Co tour in Atlanta, Eugene, and Boulder came together to make a difference in thousands of lives. Over 2,200 nutritious dried soup meals were distributed to multiple food pantries in Boulder County, CO and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

This year, fans can get involved before the three Dead & Co shows with service projects inspired by the music of the Grateful Dead scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd in New York, Saturday, June 29th in Atlanta, and Saturday, July 6th in Boulder corresponding with the band’s stops in each respective market.

With the assistance of Freaks Action Network (“FAN”), Dead & Co fans can paint a fence by the waterfront and clean up the park on the Flushing Bay Promenade on Saturday, June 22, the day before they go “dancing in the streets” at Dead & Co’s show at Citi Field in New York. Participants will get to listen to the funk stylings of DJ Cochon de Lait and enjoy lunch and Dead & Co prizes throughout the day. Positive Legacy will provide a $3,000 grant to the City Parks Foundation, which services more than 400 parks, recreation centers, and public schools across New York City.

Dead & Co Atlanta fans can get involved with the Atlanta Community Food Bank for a park clean-up and music event in Beltline park on Saturday, June 29th. Fans will assist in sorting and passing out boxes of food for a community giveaway while enjoying food, drinks, and music of courtesy of Cuban drum group Michellito Herrera y Afro Cuba before Dead & Co perform at Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood that evening.

The final 2019 Positive Legacy Dead & Company tour action day will take place in Boulder, CO on Saturday, July 6th. Collaborating with Conscious Alliance, fans will help host a Community Action Event to prepare meals at the Boulder Food Bank for families in need in Boulder County and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. During the three-hour event, participants are projected to make 2,000 nutritious dried soup meals for families, all while listening to and engaging in insightful conservations on food insecurity. Volunteers will receive stickers, drinks, food, and good karma credit before heading off the Dead & Co tour closer at Folsom Field.
