A music video from late Queen singer Freddie Mercury has emerged after more than three decades of hiding in the depths of classic rock storage.

The new video for the song, “Time Waits For No One”, was originally recorded by Mercury in 1986 for the concept album of a musical of the same name (then simply titled, “Time”). The song (and musical) was written by Dave Clark of British rock group The Dave Clark Five, who many fans would probably remember as the knock-off version of The Beatles in the “British Invasion” era of pop music. Tapes for the video were discovered by Clark in 2018, and is now finally seeing the light of day just as Queen has catapulted back into the pop culture conversation thanks to the 2018 smash hit biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody.

The video showcases a solo Mercury bolding singing right into the camera as the soft piano/vocal duet ballad plays throughout. The performance is as wonderful as it is haunting as Mercury is heard belting out the lyrics, “Time waits for no one/We’ve got to build this world together/Or we’ll have no more future at all.”
