On Tuesday, Legendary jazz and rock guitarist Carlos Santana served as the musical guest on ABC late-night television show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The television appearance came in support of Santana’s latest studio album, Africa Speaks, released earlier this month via Concord Records. Produced by industry heavyweight Rick Rubin, Africa Speaks marks Santana’s first full-length release since 2017’s The Power Of Peace, a collaborative effort with The Isley Brothers, as well as Santana’s wife and touring partner Cindy Blackman Santana.
Santana offered up four Africa Speaks songs at Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s outdoor stage, including “Breaking Down The Door”. Spanish vocalist Buika, who appears throughout the new album, performed alongside Santana and his backing band. The band went on to perform three other tracks off-air, with “Batonga”, “Yo Me Lo Merezco”, and “Canobe Cumbele”.

This Saturday, June 22nd, Santana heads out on the road in celebration of the 20th anniversary of his Grammy-winning album, Supernatural, and the 50th anniversary of his monumental performance at Woodstock. The Supernatural Now tour will span 29 dates over three months, and will feature support by The Doobie Brothers. Additionally, Santana will play 16 shows through November at Las Vegas, NV’s House of Blues at Mandalay Bay.
