In honor of the late Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, the Boston Red Sox will celebrate the musician with a special “Jerry Day” on Tuesday, August 6th at Fenway Park.
Fans who purchase the Red Sox’s special ticket package will receive a Jerry Garcia Red Sox t-shirt. Shirt sizes will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis in sizes small–extra large. Fans are also invited to a special pre-game concert outside of the ballpark on Jersey St. by the Terrapin Band. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Rex Foundation.
The Boston Red Sox join MLS teams Colorado Rapids and Indy Eleven, MLB clubs Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, minor league squad Brooklyn Cyclones, as well as the Detroit Red Wings and Florida Panthers of the NHL in celebrating the legacy of the Grateful Dead at sporting events this year.
