The arrival of “Vacant” and its accompanying animated video on Friday follows the previously-shared “Leave A Little”, which arrived late last month. The video’s storyline for “Vacant” introduces a new pair of characters in Nick and Charlotte who once resided in apartment 2B within the Brooklyn brownstone of which Krasno’s album is themed around.

The video introduces Nick as a down-trodden guitarist who arrives back to his empty apartment only to find old items which launch him into flashbacks from when the apartment was filled with that of a young family. Sadly, Nick’s fulfilled life with a partner and child came to a sad ending after the relationship between himself and Charlotte turned south. “It’s a cross-section of the different worlds I’ve lived in—from producing hip-hop records for guys like 50 Cent to performing with The Grateful Dead,” Krasno said of his forthcoming project with the arrival of “Leave A Little” last month. “I always hoped to eventually combine everything. I also wanted to write from these different perspectives. This was the first time I could. I moved to Los Angeles at the end of making TELESCOPE, but this is my ode to Brooklyn. Some of the songs are based on true experiences and real people. Others are embellished. There’s definitely some of me in the songs too.”

Speaking of Brooklyn, Krasno and his Soulive bandmates recently wrapped their six-show, two-weekend run at Brooklyn Bowl for the 2019 edition of their Bowlive residency at the popular New York City venue.
