On Tuesday night, Hollywood Vampires, the rock supergroup comprised of classic rock veterans Joe Perry and Alice Cooper along with actor Johnny Depp, served as the musical guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

The television appearance came in support of Hollywood Vampires’ recent sophomore studio release, Risewhich arrived in June via earMUSIC. The 16-track LP is the follow-up to Hollywood Vampires’ self-titled 2015 debut album. Rise features a mix of original rock songs sung by all three men in addition to covers of David Bowie‘s “Heroes”, Jim Carroll Band’s “People Who Died”, and Johnny Thunders‘ “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory”. Jeff Beck and John Waters also make guest appearances on “Welcome to Bushwackers”.

Depp, Perry, and Cooper offered up their reworked cover of Bowie’s “Heroes” for their slot on The Late Late Show. The song opens up with a distorted guitar solo from Perry’s corner before Depp comes in on the vocal lead. The scorching guitar licks and vocal harmonies add a powerful, new dynamic to the beloved Bowie number.
