On Saturday, Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Festival rolled into Maryland Heights, MO’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre for an evening of music and reunions. Both Phil Lesh & Friends and Alison Krauss took part in Nelson’s traveling event on Saturday, and collaborated during Lesh’s one-set performance.

Lesh and his band—comprised of guitarists Stu Allen and Cris Jacobs, multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby, and drummer John Molo—opened up their set with “Jack Straw”, which was followed up by “Brown-Eyed Women” and “Sugaree”. Moving out of “Sugaree”, Lesh and his compadres invited up Alison Krauss to add an extra tender touch on “To Lay Me Down”. Sans Krauss, Phil Lesh & Friends moved forward with an exploratory “Eyes Of The World” before soaring off into the heavy-hitter pairing of “Help On The Way” into “”Slipknot!”. Following “Slipknot!”, Krauss rejoined the band for “Morning Dew”, highlighted by some beautiful vocal work from Allen and Krauss. The band returned to their regular configuration and brought the night to a close with a roaring “Cumberland Blues”.
