Dead & Company returned to Boulder, CO’s Folsom Field to close out their 2019 summer tour with a pair of shows at the college football stadium over the holiday weekend.

On the first night of the two-show run (July 5th) the band and their fans were forced to halt the opening portion of the show after nasty rain and even hail came into the area, forcing everyone to hide somewhere dry while the storm passed over. As all things do on this long, strange trip, the storm eventually passed, allowing fans to return to their seats and the band to continue playing one long, single-set performance.

While some fans shared their experience of the rain delay on social media, one person had the right idea of setting up a camera overlooking the entire stadium and it the sky above it. The very cool time-lapse video shows a sped-up timeframe from the moment venue doors opened, throughout the storm, and finally when the concert resumed as day turned into night. Watch the entire time-lapse video in all of its natural beauty below.

Dead & Company will head to warmer and dryer climates next winter when the band sets up shop at Mexico’s Moon Palace Cancún for the 2020 edition of their annual Playing In The Sand destination event. First-time attendees can purchase their tickets to next year’s all-inclusive when general on-sale begins on Monday, July 15th at 1 p.m. EST. Head to the event’s official website for more info.
