STS9 To Bring Their ‘Apo11o’ Tour To The Brooklyn Mirage With Cut Chemist, Mark Farina, Orchard Lounge

109

STS9 is bringing their 2019 Apo11o tour to one of New York City’s most popular new venues, Brooklyn Mirage. The show will find the iconic livetronica outfit joined by Cut ChemistMark Farina, and Orchard Lounge at the spacious, open-air, converted warehouse venue in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood.

The Apo11o tour will find STS9 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the famous moon-bound space flight of the Apollo 11. The band will focus on unique setlists and a general theme of exploration at each stop on their Northeast tour to celebrate the successful 1969 lunar landing. When they announced the tour, STS9 explained:

Inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 spaceflight, which sent two Americans to land on the moon for the first time ever!! We’ll be celebrating a theme of exploration at every stop on the tour – all shows will be custom crafted to explore the STS9 catalogs, and we have some special plans for each stop in the north east we’re looking to go where no sectornaut has gone before… LFG!

With such an impactful event serving as their inspiration, there’s no telling what will happen during the Apo11o tour. Just strap in, count down from ten, and prepare for the kind of liftoff that only STS9 can provide.

STS9 will be joined at the Brooklyn Mirage by a talented group of support acts that will keep fans grooving throughout the night. Cut Chemist, the dance music heavyweight and former beatmaker for beloved hip-hop group Jurassic 5, will offer up a set of his patented mix of hip hop and electronic music.

One of the most iconic DJs to emerge from Chicago’s vibrant house music scene in the late 1980s, DJ Mark Farina will also be on hand to deliver his mixture of house, acid jazz, and downtempo that he calls “Mushroom Jazz.”

Finally, Orchard Lounge will make an increasingly rare appearance in New York City supporting STS9 at the Brooklyn Mirage. The electrofunk trio has been a jam scene favorite for years, and they are always a welcome addition to lineups that skew towards a more electronic sound.

The Brooklyn Mirage is a 5,000-capacity open-air space that is part of the larger, multi-stage concept-venue called Avant Gardner. The Mirage has become a staple of the outdoor concert season in New York City since it opened in the Summer of 2017, and it has become the city’s de facto home to electronic music concerts and parties following the closure of popular dance music clubs like Output and Verboten.

The Brooklyn Mirage/Avant Gardner has quickly been cemented as one of the most important venues in Brooklyn and New York City as a whole—but it won’t truly launch into orbit until STS9 arrives on September 20th.
