Funk powerhouse Turkuaz has released their latest studio EP, Afterlife Vol. 2. The five tracks on the new release, as well as those on the previously-released Afterlife Vol 1. which arrived back in mid-May, were recorded during the 2016-2018 sessions that brought the band’s recent Life In The City album to life.
The band’s new Afterlife Vol. 2 includes a demo mix of “If I Ever Fall Asleep”, one of the songs featured on Life in The City, in addition to four unreleased recordings with “Mister Man”, “Change” featuring Shira Elias and Sammi Garett on lead vocals, a rocking 7:33-minute “Better Get Ready”, and “Between the Lines”.
“With the second and final installment of ‘Afterlife’, all the tiny seedlings of songs we planted over the last two years have now been watered and grown into a rich tapestry of flora…or something like that,” Turkuaz frontman and guitarist Dave Brandwein said about the band’s latest release. “Across these two EPs, you will find different sides of Turkuaz, some of which you may have never seen!”

Turkuaz recently performed at the inaugural 4848 Festival in Showshoe, WV this past weekend, and continue their 2019 summer run with a scheduled appearance at Tumble Down Festival in Burlington, VT on Saturday, July 27th.
