Warren Haynes, John Medeski, George Porter Jr., Joe Russo Announce Benefit Concert At The Capitol Theatre

176

On Tuesday, The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY announced a new benefit concert, billed as “One Night Only…Again!”, set for Saturday, October 19th. The artists to perform at the upcoming event—comprised of guitarist/vocalist Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule), keyboardist John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood), bassist/vocalist George Porter Jr. (The Meters), and drummer Joe Russo (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead)—joined forces for a “One Night Only” benefit last October at The Cap. As it did last year, the benefit concert will benefit The Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association of America (DEBRA of America).

According to their website, DEBRA of America is the only U.S. nonprofit providing all-inclusive support to the Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) community, through funding research for a cure and by providing free programs and services for those with EB—”The Worst Disease You’ve Never Heard Of.™” For more information on the organization, head to their website.

“Warren Haynes has always been one of my favorite guitar players and when he put together this incredible group of musicians, I became very excited,” explained DEBRA of America executive director Brett Kopelan in a press release when last year’s concert was announced. “I knew that with Warren’s help, we would be able to make a lot of people aware of this horrible disease and that is what enables us to push the needle forward on the science to an eventual treatment and a cure.”

Tickets to “One Night Only… Again!” go on sale beginning this Friday, August 2nd at 12:00 p.m. (EST) here. For more information on the upcoming show, head to the event page.
