Woodstock 50 Transitions To Free Benefit Concert

157

According to a report by TMZ, Woodstock 50 will now be a free benefit concert, though it is still extremely unclear which artists will play the three-day festival. Fans are encouraged to make donations to a charitable cause of their choice.

“Sources familiar with the event plans tell us, organizers have decided to release tickets in the coming days free of charge. We’re told a limited number of seats will be available for the show — which has been moved to Maryland — and instructions on how to get tickets will likely be posted by the end of the week,” as reported by TMZ.

Two days after organizers behind the ridiculously troubled festival announced they were moving locations (again) from their former proposed locations in upstate New York, to the smaller, 32,000-capacity Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, Dead & Company confirmed with Rolling Stone that they will no longer headline the three-day music festival.

The news came in the wake of the festival’s organizers announcing that they have formally released all of the artists who were scheduled to perform at the initially-planned event from their contracts. Both Jay-Z and John Fogerty also pulled out of taking part in what has become the best joke of the 2019 concert season thus far.
