Mark Wahlberg, Post Malone, John Mayer and Adam Levine Are Huge Fans of This Rainbow Rolex Daytona

157

One of Rolex‘s most colorful offerings ever is the Rainbow Cosmograph Daytona, which was first introduced over a year ago. Since then it’s picked up plenty of famous devotees.

A short list of Rainbow Rollie lovers includes Miley Cyrus, Mark Wahlberg, noted watch collector and occasional musician John Mayer, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, and—most recently—Post Malone.

Malone was wearing one of these glittering timepieces recently when he made an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. The guest spot was notable enough as it was, given that Malone walked on stage dressed unusually—for him. He wore a finely tailored three-piece suit and the Fruity Pebbles-colored Daytona, providing a welcome contrast to his signature face tattoos.

It’s no wonder this particular version of the Daytona might get some celebrity love. In reviewing the “Everose Gold Ref. 116595 RBOW,” Hodinkee’s Ben Clymer acknowledged that the watch already had a cult following among the rich and famous in early 2018 and wrote that while “its look may not be to most’s tastes, trust me when I say this watch is one of the most interesting and important in the current Rolex line-up.”

Rolex has referred to this model as “a scintillant gem-set version of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona.” Here’s what it comes with:

  • A bezel studded with sapphires in every color of the rainbow (of course).
  • 56 brilliant-cut diamonds that adorn the case, encrusting the lugs and crown guard.
  • On the dial, the hour markers bear 11 baguette-cut sapphires.

Other features, according to Hodinkee’s review:

Diameter: 40mm
Case Material: Everose Gold
Dial Color:Black lacquer, counters in 18k pink Gold Crystals
Indexes: 11 baguette-cut, rainbow-coloured sapphires
Hands: 18k pink gold
Lume: Chromalight (long-lasting luminescence, blue glow), except on the center seconds hand and counter hands
Water Resistance: 100 meters
Strap/Bracelet: Everose gold (Reference 78595 A)

At the moment, the Post Malone-preferred model isn’t on Rolex‘s website—Hodinkee reported its availability was “extremely limited.”

There are, however, several on sale via online watch market Chrono 24, and if you want your own, prepare to pay more than $425,000.
