The three shows will take place at the Minetta Lane Theatre in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City on September 18th, 19th, and 20th. The production will see Morello sharing his life story and musical career journey via playing and live performance. Acclaimed composer T Bone Burnett will serve as the event’s executive producer.

“I was the only black kid in an all-white town, the only anarchist at a conservative high school, the only heavy metal guitarist at Harvard University, and the only Ivy League Star Trek nerd in the biggest political rap rock band of all time,” Morello shared in a statement to go with the announcement on Wednesday. “The songs, the stories, the triumphs, the tragedies, the riffs, the rebellion — all will be revealed. Oh, and I’m going play a lot of ripping guitar, too.”

Minetta Lane Theatre is the same theatre which hosted the short-run, Grateful Dead-inspired musical, Red Roses, Green Gold, which ran at the NYC venue from fall 2017 through early 2018. The show is being presented by Audible, which also presented the similar production of Patti Smith at the Minetta Lane in September 2018.

Tickets for the three performances will go on sale starting this Friday, August 16th, at 12 p.m. EST here. Tapers be warned–the show will be recorded to be released exclusively through Audible.
