Ric Flair Signs Endorsement Deal With Adidas, Wants To Take Down Nike

WWE legend Ric Flair has announced that he signed an endorsement deal with Adidas, and vowed to take aim at Nike and turn Air Jordan into “Air Flair” in the process.

The “Nature Boy” told TMZ Sports: “Ready for the good news? Adidas thinks I’m ‘The Man.’ I signed a deal with them, and we’re fixin’ to make Nike the second brand, OK? It’s not gonna be Air Jordan anymore, it’s gonna be Air Flair and I can’t jump. Wooo!”

Flair joins the likes of fellow Adidas athletes James Harden, Damian Lillard, and pro gamer Ninja with the endorsement deal.

Flair has stayed busy despite some serious health problems in recent years, reports Fox Business. He threw the first pitch at a Houston Astros game in August and making numerous appearances on WWE broadcasts, celebrating his 70th birthday on Monday Night Raw in February and returning to the program in July for Raw Reunion.

The flamboyant Flair made headlines in 2017 when he claimed to have sex with more than 10,000 women (a boast that was later shot down by no less an authority than Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler) and was celebrated in the 2018 video for Offset’s “Ric Flair Drip.”

But that doesn’t mean Flair isn’t serious about protecting his legacy. The former pro wrestler threatened legal action against his ex-employer over WWE star Becky Lynch’s use of the phrase “The Man,” which, while not as recognizable as his signature “Wooo!” is a timeworn Flair-ism that he’s been using since 1981.

Flair has even trademarked the immortal phrase “to be the man, you gotta beat the man.”
