Trump claims ‘double standard’ in Roger Stone conviction

President Donald Trump immediately slammed the conviction of former adviser Roger Stone on charges of lying to Congress and witness tampering, accusing federal prosecutors of employing a double standard compared to the treatment of Trump’s foes. “So they now convict Roger Stone of lying and want to jail him for many years to come,” Trump tweeted, moments after a Washington jury found Stone guilty on all seven counts stemming from special counsel Robert Mueller’s since-completed probe.
