Billie Eilish received five Grammy Awards at the 62nd annual ceremony held Sunday night at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The 18-year-old swept the four major categories, winning Album of the Year (When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?), Record of the Year and Song Of The Year (“bad guy”) and Best New Artist. Gary Clark Jr., Lizzo and Tanya Tucker were also among those receiving multiple Grammy Awards last night.
Eilish’s album also won Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Eilish’s brother, producer Finneas, was also named Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical.
Lizzo, who went in with the most nominations, won Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo Performance (“Truth Hurts”), Best Urban Contemporary Album (Cuz I Love You) and Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Jerome”). The 61-year-old Tucker won her first Grammy Awards of her career, taking home trophies for Best Country Album (While I’m Livin’) and Best Country Song (“Bring My Flowers Now”).
Gary Clark Jr. won Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Blues Album (This Land) and Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance (“This Land”). Anderson .Paak won Grammy Awards for Best R&B Album (Ventura) and Best R&B Performance (“Come Home [ft. Andre 3000]”).
Among the other Grammy Award winners last night were Tool (Best Metal Performance – “7empest”), I’m With Her (Best American Roots Song – “Call My Name”), Elvis Costello & The Imposters (Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album – Look Now), Keb’ Mo’ (Best Americana Album – Oklahoma), Vampire Weekend (Best Alternative Music Album – Father of the Bride), Willie Nelson (Best Country Solo Performance – “Ride Me Back Home”), Chick Corea & the Spanish Heart Band (Best Latin Jazz Album – Antidote), Brad Mehldau (Best Jazz Instrumental Album – Finding Gabriel), Esperanza Spalding (Best Jazz Vocal Album – 12 Little Spells), Rodrigo y Gabriela (Best Contemporary Instrumental Album – Mettavolution) and Michael Cleveland (Best Bluegrass Album – Tall Fiddler), among several others.

The ceremony featured several tributes to NBA legend Kobe Bryant whose retired Los Angeles Lakers jerseys hang in the rafters at Staples Center. Host Alicia Keys began the ceremony by paying tribute to Bryant, who died yesterday in a helicopter crash, as did many others who appeared on stage.
Elish, Lizzo and Clark and Tucker (with Brandi Carlile) were among last night’s performers. Additional performances included Keys with Brittany Howard, Lil Nas X and Nas, H.E.R., Preservation Hall Jazz Band with Trombone Shorty, and Bonnie Raitt honoring Lifetime Achievment Award recipient John Prine.
