Ducati Unveils Scrambler 1100 Pro and Sport Pro Motorcycles

120

Ducati is beefing up its Scrambler range of bikes that first debuted in 2014 with the new 1100 Pro and 1100 Sport Pro models.

The 1100 Pro arrives in a two-tone “Ocean Drive” colorway with a black steel frame, aluminum subframe and covers. Up front is a framed headlight that’s accented by Ducati’s signature X-shaped grille and a Marzocchi suspension. The rear features an eye-catching stacked dual tailpipe positioned below the seat, low-hanging plate holder, and a Kayaba suspension.

The similarly styled 1100 Sport Pro gets more matte black hues and cafe racer mirrors, plus an Ohlins suspension and lower handlebars that make for a more relaxed riding position. A pair of aluminum 10-spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber serve as a throwback to classic criss-crossed patterns.

Both bikes get power from a 86-horsepower Desmodue 1079cc twin-cylinder mated to a six-speed gearbox. A wet multiplate clutch with hydraulic control and slipper function  are designed to help stabilize the rear wheels during downshifting.

New multi-function switches are used to select between three different riding modes. In “Active” mode, the engine’s full power is accessible via a tight throttle response, and a sporty Ducati Traction Control (DTC) setting allows experienced riders to let loose. “Journey” mode’s fluid throttle response is more suited to everyday use, while “City” mode lowers the power to 75 hp and further tapers throttle response. Additionally, the DTC can be toggled between four different intervention levels.

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro and Sport Pro start at $13,495 and $15,495, respectively. Look for them at dealers beginning in March.
