Pennsylvania-based Cabinet held a home state New Year’s Eve concert at Radisson Hotel & Convention Center in Camp Hill. The show featured several special guests including guitarists Steve Kimock, Larry Keel and Michael Falzarano.
Cabinet, who have only performed a few times since going on hiatus following their New Year’s Eve show on December 31, 2017, were joined by percussionist Brian “Nugget” Gorby for the entire show. The New Year’s Eve Extravaganza bill also featured the Larry Keel Experience, Gatos Blancos with Kimock, The Englishtown Project featuring Hot Tuna/New Riders of the Purple Sage affiliated guitarist Michael Falzarano, Kind Bud & Friends, Willie Jack & The Northern Light, Rivers and Fletchers Grove.
Cabinet brought out Larry Keel and his Experience band mate, mandolinist Jared Pool, for a first set-closing performance of “Nine Pound Hammer.” Cabinet returned for the second set with Pennsylvania-born Kimock, as well as Keel, Jenny Keel, Falzarano and The Englishtown Project’s Clare Maloney, Rob Wolfson and Waynard Scheller. The band and their guests counted down to midnight and then launched into Ramones’ “I Wanna Be Sedated.” Kimock was back out for the entire encore that consisted of “Mr. Spaceman,” “Shady Grove,” “Liberty” and “Nashville Blues.” Listen to a soundboard recording of Cabinet’s New Year’s Eve concert below:
