It’s official: the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, February 2.
Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns, the Chiefs beat the Tennessee Titans 35-24 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri Sunday to win the AFC Championship.
49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo threw just eight passes against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, but the 49ers’ 285-yard rushing game dominated the Packers 37-20 to clinch the NFC Championship at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The Chiefs will compete for their first NFL championship in 50 years since they won Super Bowl IV in 1970. The 49ers last played the Big Game at Super XLVII in 2013, when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Chiefs, who started the season as early favorites to win the Super Bowl, have a slight -1.0 point spread advantage over the 49ers in Caesars Sportsbook. The over/under is currently 53.5, and the money line is -120 Chiefs and +100 49ers.
“We had the Chiefs a little higher than the 49ers in our power ratings,” Alan Berg, senior oddsmaker for Caesars Sportsbook, told ESPN. “You can make a case for either team, and I expect decent, balanced action from the public.”
Fox will broadcast Super Bowl LIV live from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on Sunday, February 2 starting at 6:30 p.m. EST.
