Washington Nationals Pitcher Sean Doolittle Shows Off Phish-Inspired Glove

128

Washington Nationals pitcher Sean Doolittle recently became sponsored by Wilson Sporting Goods and decided to have the company make his first glove one that shows off his Phish fandom. Doolittle worked with Wilson — a perfectly named company for such a task — to create a custom glove that includes a pair of song titles and a lyric from “Wilson.” Sean showed off the finished project in a tweet that can be viewed below.

Phish song title “Punch You In The Eye” is stitched into the glove on one side, while the lyric “Duke Of Lizards” from “Wilson” is stitched into the other side. Doolittle also used lots of blue and green shades — or teal — in what might be a shout out to “Tela.” Sean won the World Series as a member of the Nationals in 2019 and wore a Phish shirt while sitting for an interview used in a documentary about the team’s big win.

The New Jersey-bred Doolittle made his Major League Baseball debut in 2012. Sean was selected to the all-star team in 2014 and 2018. Last year, he led the National League in games finished and saved Game 1 of the World Series for the Nats. Check out Sean’s tweet below:
