The Grateful Dead unveiled previously unreleased video featuring a performance of “High Time” from 1990 as this week’s installment of their All The Years Live video series. Jerry Garcia leads the band through the ballad, which he wrote with Robert Hunter, at Rich Stadium in Orchard Park, New York on July 16, 1990.
“‘High Time’ was played quite a bit in 1969 and 1970, and was one of the many standouts on Workingman’s Dead in 1970 (OK, all eight songs on the album are standouts!),” noted GD archivist David Lemieux. “It was dropped in 1970 until it made its return in 1976, and it was played every year 1976-1995 with the exception of 1978, 1983 and 1989.”
