Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Cover Jamiroquai With Goose’s Peter Anspach In Bend

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong teamed up with Goose on Thursday night at Midtown Ballroom in Bend, Oregon. The bird bands collaborated once again as Goose’s Peter Anspach played keys on the Pigeons debut of a Jamiroquai cover.

Goose opened the evening with a set that included a cover of John Phillips’ “Me & My Uncle” followed by a slow and melodic “All I Need,” “Into The Myst,” “Butter Rum” and “So Ready.” Then, Pigeons kicked off their performance with “Whoopie” and a version of “Time To Ride” that included “Kiwi” in its midst. Next up was “Overrun” before “Somethin For Ya” bled into “Skipjack.”

PPPP’s set continued with a wild sequence of “Penguins” into “Funkijam” into rarity “White Night” into Star Wars’ “The Imperial March” into “White Night.” The classic “Julia” followed along with a “Landing” that featured a solo from drummer Alex “Gator” Petropulos and “Paperboy.” Next, Anspach emerged to add to Pigeons’ first ever rendition of “Canned Heat.” Jamiroquai originally released “Canned Heat” on 1999’s Synkronized. “Ocean Flows” closed out the set and then PPPP encored with “Havana” and “The Liquid.”
