Shovels & Rope shared the video for their song “Mississippi Nuthin’.” The track appears on Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent’s 2019 album By Blood.
The visual is a clever bit of meta filmmaking from The Made Shop, who wrote and directed the video, and Shovels & Rope, who are seasoned filmmakers at this point after releasing their unconventional, narrative-laced concert film Shovels & Rope: The Movie back in August. The self-reflexive video for “Mississippi Nuthin’” features an overbearing director who can’t help but muck up the music video the duo are shooting, much to their chagrin. Check it out below:
