Watch Bryan Cranston Transform Back Into Walter White in ‘El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie’ Featurette

In El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, Walter White is still dead but Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) hasn’t been on the run for long at all. He uses his downtime to reflect on what he went through during his time as White’s (Bryan Cranston) accomplice, and that’s how we got an intriguing flashback of Pinkman and White together, one that looked like it could have been an outtake from Breaking Bad, only it wasn’t.

Nope, six years after he last played Walter White, Bryan Cranston made a top-secret trip to Albuquerque to film a new scene. And in this featurette about his transformation, Cranston describes why he was willing to do that.

“When I finally read the script,” he says, “I was so into the story, so into what happens to Jesse, I absolutely forgot that I, Walter White, was in this movie.”

The rest of the short video captures Cranston and Aaron Paul reflecting on the show and the strangeness of returning to it one more time, as well as on the lasting friendship they built while playing Pinkman and White–a friendship that even bore fruit in the form of launching their own line of tequila.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie first premiered on Netflix in October 2019.

It will air for the first time on AMC on February 16, 2020 at 8 p.m.
