Wynonna recruited Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir to contribute to her cover of the band’s “Ramble On Rose.” The release of the ANTI- Records single comes just days after Weir joined Wynonna & The Big Noise for a large swath of their show at San Francisco’s The Fillmore.
“They say that when the student is ready, the teacher appears,” Wynonna said in a statement. “Robert Weir showed up in my life just in time! And I am so very thankful to have yet another opportunity to celebrate our musical gifts together!!” Penned by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter, “Ramble On Rose” was first performed by the Grateful Dead at the Northrop Auditorium on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis on October 19, 1971.
