Goose & Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer Cover The Wood Brothers Aboard Rock Legends Cruise

127

Goose teamed with guitarist Brandon “Taz” Niederauer for a cover of The Wood Brothers’ “Atlas.” The collaboration took place on Sunday as part of the Rock Legends Cruise festival at sea.

Other acts performing aboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas were The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Heart’s Nancy Wilson, The Doors’ Robby Kreiger and others. Taz came out during Goose’s set in Studio B on Sunday morning and the ensuing “Atlas” spanned over 10 minutes. A few songs later, Goose lighting director Andrew Goedde provided the whistle part during a cover of Paul Simon’s “Me & Julio Down By The Schoolyard.” Goose’s final song on the ship was “Arcadia.”

The weekend at sea also saw Goose perform sets on Friday and Saturday that saw covers of tunes by Billy Joel, The Band, Stevie Wonder and Deodato as well as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bruce Hornsby and Bobby Blue Bland. Goose also delivered plenty of originals like “Madhuvan,” a slower version on “All I Need,” “Echo of a Rose” and others.

Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda and Peter Anspach also participated in Saturday’s Gary Hoey All-Star Jam. They shared the stage with Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach and many other musicians, jamming on Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way”, ZZ Top’s “Tush,” Stevie Ray Vaughn’s “Pride and Joy” and Chuck Berry’ “Johnny B. Good.” Check out Goose’s Rock Legends Cruise setlists below:
