Musicians Jackson Browne and Larry Campbell are among Americans who have tested positive for the coronavirus. Browne and Campbell both participated in the Love Rocks NYC concert on March 12.
Rolling Stone confirmed the news of Browne’s positive test and spoke with the legendary singer-songwriter. “As soon as I had a small cough and a temperature, I tested [for COVID-19],” Jackson told Rolling Stone. “My symptoms are really pretty mild, so I don’t require any kind of medication and certainly not hospitalization or anything like that”
Browne came forward in an attempt to urge those around the world to stay home and help stop the spread of the virus. “So many people that have it aren’t going to be tested,” Jackson added. “They don’t have symptoms, but they might have it and might be able to pass it on. That’s what younger readers need to understand: They need to take part in the global response to stop the spread. That means not going anywhere, not getting into contact with anybody, not seeing anybody.”
Larry Campbell’s symptoms are not mild. Campbell’s wife, Teresa Williams announced the news on Tuesday in a video and noted Larry “is sicker than he’s ever been in his life.” Larry is home under quarantine while Teresa is self-quarantining in New York City. Williams requests all friends and family refrain from calling Campbell for the time being to keep phone lines open for medical personnel. Watch Teresa’s message below:
