M. Ward released a new single, “Torch,” and also shared the video for “Unreal City.” Both songs will appear on Ward’s upcoming 2020 album, Migration Stories, set to arrive on April 3 through Anti- Records.
Filmed in Paris, French-Australian filmmaker Beatrice Pegard directed the video, which is a nod to the French New Wave film movement of the 1960s. “The video is about finding joy and wonder in the most random moments and places,” Ward said in a statement, “paying homage to Jean-Luc Godard and the New Wave.”
