moe. swung through the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, Colorado on Tuesday night. The Buffalo-based band worked in the rarities “Blond Hair & Blue Eyes” and “Don’t Fear The Reaper” (Blue Oyster Cult).
The band used a setlist created by bassist Rob Derhak and kicked off the evening with the classic “Waiting For The Punchline” which headed into the relatively new song “LL3” no huddle style. After “All Roads Lead To Home” from the band’s 2008 album Sticks And Stones, moe. delivered the 2020 debuts of “She” and “32 Things,” the latter of which headed into “Wormwood” ahead of the set closer, “Okayalright.”
“Tambourine” got the second set underway before segueing into “Deep This Time.” After “head.,” the band delivered the first bust out of the evening, “Blond Hair And Blue Eyes,” which appears on moe.’s last studio album — 2014’s No Guts, No Glory — and was last played on October 15, 2018 for a gap of 93 shows, as per Phantasy Tour. The Rob Derhak-penned rarity has only been played 35 times since its debut at Summer Camp 2013. “Don’t Wanna Be” then led no huddle style into the Blue Oyster Cult classic “Don’t Fear The Reaper.” Seeing its first moe. performance in 44 shows, “Don’t Fear The Reaper” made just its 50th appearance since the band debuted the cover in 1998. The band then closed out the second set with the classic “Recreational Chemistry.” The Rolling Stones’ “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” served as the encore.
