Brittany Howard Covers Funkadelic For ‘Spotify Singles’

Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard recorded an original and a Funkadelic cover for her installment of the Spotify Singles series. The two-song set keeps in line with past Spotify Singles installments featuring a revised version of an artist’s own song and a fresh take on a tune by one of their influences.

Howard picked Funkadelic’s “You And Your Folks, Me And My Folks” off 1971’s Maggot Brain as her cover. Brittany went with Jaime single “Stay High” as the original. William Garrett of Spotify produced the session, which finds Brittany Howard backed by her full band and backing vocalists. Listen to both songs below:
