Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi & More Perform For ‘Jersey 4 Jersey’

63

Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi and Halsey were among the performers in Jersey 4 Jersey, a livestream benefitting the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund. New Jersey has been the second hardest hit state by the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic with more than 5,000 residents succumbing to the virus.

Springsteen and his wife, Patti Scialfa kicked off the benefit with “Land Of Hopes & Dreams” before host Jon Stewart made his first appearance. Next, Jon Bon Jovi performed “Do What You Can,” a song he penned with help from fans about the pandemic. SZA was the next artist featured and she sang “20 Something.” Then, Charlie Puth covered Springsteen’s “Growin’ Up” and Tony Bennett crooned “Smile” before Halsey played “Finally/Beautiful Stranger.”

An emotional moment followed as Fountains Of Wayne honored co-founder Adam Schlesinger, who died of the coronavirus, with a performance of “Hackensack” featuring Sharon Van Etten. Bruce and Patti then returned for a poignant cover of Tom Waits’ “Jersey Girl” before Jon Bon Jovi gave the final performance of the night — “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
