Casio Unveils Metal G-Shock Laser-Etched With Grid Design

158

Casio just released yet another model as part of its metal GMW-B5000 line, the B5000CS. This one has been laser-etched with a distinctive grid pattern that feels very 2020 but the timepiece design is pure G-Shock—shock-resistant with that classic squared-away, 1980s retro look.

Don’t be fooled by that nod to the original G-Shock, which was first sold in 1983; this is a watch made for the age of smartphones. The GMW-B5000CS has a full metal body that encases up-to-date watch technology, including radio wave reception for continuous accurate timekeeping and Bluetooth capacity to easily sync with smartphones, enabling time tracking via the internet where an atomic clock signal is unavailable.

The G-Shock GMW-B5000CS

  • Nearly 50mm case
  • Shock-resistant
  • Water-resistant to 200 meters
  • Tough Solar power
  • STN LCD display
  • Stopwatch, calendar, and 5 daily alarms.

This visually striking G-Shock—it looks like something created inside a video game—is part of the line’s Spring and Summer Collection and retails for $800 USD. Learn more at casio-watches.com.
