Doxa Debuts Sharkhunter Dive Watch With Forged Carbon Case

170

Doxa doesn’t have the name recognition of a Rolex or Omega but the company has been turning out excellent dive watches since it resumed operations in the early 2000s. They’ve dubbed their upcoming SUB 300 Aqua Lung US Divers watch the “Sharkhunter,” and it’s a first for the luxury Swiss watchmaker.

While Doxa has reissued past models, with its forged carbon case the Sharkhunter is a timepiece for today. The carbon permits a tough-looking raw finish but it’s also lightweight and easy to wear, ideal for diving.

Below, further details from the watchmaker:

With a diameter of 42.5 mm, the SUB 300 carbon Aqua Lung US Divers is fitted with a pressure-resistant titanium chamber to protect the movement and a screw-down crown.

This watch is rated to a depth of 300 meters, allowing maximum freedom of undersea exploration. Its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, treated with an antireflective coating, echoes the domed plexiglass of early SUB generations. The COSC-certified automatic movement ensures a power reserve exceeding 40 hours.

All dive-related information is highlighted with a Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating to ensure excellent legibility in reduced visibility conditions. The black soft rubber strap with a black PVD steel folding clasp featuring the exclusive “DOXA fish” symbol completes this stunning watch.

The Sharkhunter is a limited-edition release (just 300 will be made) and will be available for purchase in August 2020. It’s set to retail for $4,790 USD.
