Guitarist Warren Haynes celebrates his 60th birthday today. The Asheville, North Carolina-native known for his lengthy stint in The Allman Brothers Band and as the frontman of Gov’t Mule remains one of the premier musicians within the jam scene and beyond.
Warren has shared the live stage with a nearly countless number of fellow performers, a nearly countless number of times. His stacked resume grows each year as he continues to welcome collaborations with a variety of talented artists. The video below features a special collaboration featuring Warren jamming with Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio
The clip begins with the pair of guitarists sitting alone in a room together discussing the history of their on stage collaborations. Following the brief chat, Anastasio fires up a blues riff resembling “Funky Bitch” and before long Haynes jumps in for an extended improvisation.
