Amanda Shires continued her I So Lounging livestream series on Saturday. She and her husband Jason Isbell would perform Neil Young’s “Unknown Legend” and more for episode 16.
Shires kicked off the session by introducing Jason “The Gypsy King” Isbell on resonator guitar along with guitarist Seth Plemmons and his wife and co-host Kelly-Garcia Plemmons. The trio then got things going with Shires’ “Devastate” from her 2013 album Down Fell The Doves followed by “A Song For Leonard Cohen” from the same album. After chatting a bit, Shires added some fiddle and harmony as Isbell sang Neil Young’s “Unknown Legend.” The song originally appears on Young’s 1992 album, Harvest Moon. The trio then closed out with their usual “Zeyk’s Blues,” a nod (or wag) to the Plemmons’ dog.
