Guitarist Scott Sharrard, the newest member of Little Feat decided to record a version of the band’s “Fool Yourself.” Sharrard filled his band mates in on the project and multi-instrumentalist Fred Tackett and keyboardist Bill Payne accepted his invitation to participate. The “Fool Yourself” video has been shared and can be viewed below.
Tackett originally penned “Fool Yourself” for inclusion on Little Feat’s 1973 studio album Dixie Chicken. Sharrard’s new version includes contributions from Payne, Tackett, Mary Corso, Eric Finland, Jordan Rose, Ben Zwerin and Moses Patrou.
“I want to thank Scott Sharrard for the invite to participate on this rendition of Fred Tackett’s song ‘Fool Yourself,” Payne said in a statement. “My heartfelt thanks also to all who played on the song and for their generosity in including Fred and me in the festivities.
