Andrew Bird and Sharon Van Etten are among the recent additions to the Newport Folk Festival 2020 lineup. Newport Folk Festival is scheduled for July 31 – August 2 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island.
With Bird’s announcement came a note that festival organizers will, “continue to announce 2020 artists in a spirit of hope, support, and giving.” Other recent additions include Delta Spirit, The Ballroom Thieves, Watkins Family Hour and Barrie who will play on Friday, July 31 alongside Randy Newman, Big Thief, Joseph, EOB, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Puss N Boots, Son Volt and Sunny War.
Van Etten will perform on Saturday, August 1 along with recently confirmed, Drive-By Truckers and Waxahatchee, plus Mandolin Orange, Black Pumas, Hawktail, Vagabon and Ian Noe.
Bird will appear on Sunday, August 2, with that day’s lineup also featuring Grace Potter, Nathaniel Rateliff, Yola, The Marcus King Band, Caamp, Tre Burt and Erin Rae. Tickets are sold out.
