Organizers Cancel/Postpone Hangout Festival Due To Coronavirus

130

The 2020 Hangout Music Fest will not proceed as originally scheduled May 15 – 17 due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak pandemic. Organizers announced they are exploring “all options for a rescheduled festival” and will detail their new plan “within a couple of weeks.”

Hangout usually takes place in May on the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Post Malone and Billie Eilish were initially slated to headline this year’s festival. Refunds will be available with details revealed as part of the forthcoming update from organizers.

See the full text of the note from Hangout organizers below:

Dear Hangout Family,

This morning we received notice from the City of Gulf Shores that Hangout 2020 cannot proceed in May due to COVID-19. Rest assured, refunds will be available.

After our fastest sellout ever, and what was shaping up to be a banner year on the beach, we are gutted that this is the outcome for all of you, but agree that this is the right decision for the health and safety of everyone involved.

We kindly ask for your patience as we explore all options for a rescheduled festival. Given the rapidly changing landscape of the pandemic, we want to make sure we make the right call and need a little more time. Please know that as we vet all options, your enjoyment and your safety will be our two guiding priorities.

We will make another announcement within a couple weeks with more information, including the transfer & refund process. Until then, please follow all social distancing guidelines, stay safe and healthy, and think of better times when we’ll be on the other side of this thing with the sun on our face and the sand in our toes.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patience and understanding during this time.

With love, Team Hangout
