Organizers Reschedule 2020 High Sierra Music Festival For 2021

129

High Sierra Music Festival rescheduled its 2020 event for July 1 – 4, 2021 due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. The festival was originally set to take place July 2 – 5, 2020 in Quincy, California.

The rescheduled event will feature many of the same performers set for 2020 including Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Ziggy Marley, The Disco Biscuits and many more. Festival organizers released a statement detailing the new dates.

Read it below:

When we started planning our 30th annual, no one could have imagined today’s reality and the pandemic’s heavy toll. Unfortunately, after many discussions with Plumas County officials, we have come to the heartbreaking conclusion that there is simply no way to safely have our festival this July. Even if daily life has opened up some by July, mass gatherings pose a particular risk. High Sierra is about spreading love and community, not COVID-19!

We look forward to dancing together again – July 1 – 4, 2021! We are excited to share that almost our entire 2020 lineup (including some acts that we hadn’t announced yet) will be joining us, to bring you the party you were looking forward to — in what is sure to be our most meaningful celebration yet. Currently confirmed acts are listed below with previously unannounced acts in pink [JamBase has bolded previously unannounced acts].

More 2020 acts may be added to the 2021 roster. This list is not the final, full lineup for 2021.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Ziggy Marley, The Disco Biscuits, Dr. Dog, Railroad Earth Featuring Peter Rowan Performing Old & In The Way, Lettuce, The Floozies, Twiddle, Spafford, BoomBOX with Backbeat Brass, Dumpstaphunk, Samantha Fish, Sunsquabi, The War and Treaty, Cris Jacobs, Steve Poltz, Andy Frasco & The U.N, Marco Benevento, Watkins Family Hour, Ron Artis II & The Truth, Molly Tuttle, Ghost-Note, Aqueous, Orgone, Cedric Burnside, True Loves, Lindsay Lou, Scott Pemberton Band, Sierra Ferrell, Neal Francis, Late Night Radio, Dirty Revival, Alisa Amador, AJ Lee & Blue Summit, The Higgs, Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters, Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band, Birches Bend

Artists at Large: Lebo, Skerik, Scott Pemberton

We now ask you to stand with us too, by holding on to your tickets for use next year. In the midst of this unprecedented financial hardship, we ask for your help to get to the other side. High Sierra is a small, 100% independent organization. We’ve always been able to stand on our own two feet. Despite rumors, there will be no insurance payout for this pandemic. Holding on to your ticket is an investment in our future that is very much needed. We are hopeful that the struggle to ride out the storm will be lessened by those who love High Sierra as much as we do showing we are all truly in this together.

We do understand these are difficult challenging economic times for many, and not all are in a position to wait it out. For those who absolutely need a refund, you can get a refund by requesting it now through Sunday, May 3 at 11:59 pm PT. Please see details here.

Our hearts go out to the businesses and community of Quincy, who have been incredibly supportive hosts and partners. We will miss collaborating with our family of staff, many who have been with us for decades. We’ll miss the crafters and culinary magicians that make up our vending village. We’ll miss the musicians, who have become family as well. And of course, we will miss you, our fans, who make it all possible.

Take care of each other and stay healthy, everyone, so we can all join together in 2021 for our 30th, to create the magic that is the High Sierra Music Festival.
