Post Malone’s ‘Circles’ Breaks Record for Most Weeks in Billboard Top 10

Post Malone’s “Circles” just broke the all-time record for time spent in the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 songs chart. The chilled-out track, which debuted at No. 7 on the September 14, 2019 Hot 100 chart, has logged a landmark 34 consecutive weeks in the top 10, Billboard reports. It jumped from the No. 7 spot on last week’s chart to No. 6 on the latest chart, which would seem to bode well for its continued chart dominance.

What’s more, the hip-hop-infused singer/songwriter broke his own record. “Sunflower”, Post’s catchy collab with rapper Swae Lee, had previously spent 33 weeks on the top 10 from 2018 to 2019.

Other tracks that put up sky-high numbers of weeks in the top 10 include Maroon 5 and Cardi B’s “Girls Like You” (33 weeks), Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” (33 weeks), Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” (32 weeks) and The Chainsmokers and Halsey’s “Closer” (32 weeks).

Additionally, “Circles” finally passed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” for the most weeks tallied in the top 10 from a song’s debut. Other impressive stats include an astounding 732 million U.S. streams and 457,000 purchased downloads.

Malone’s Billboard record became official as news that his Nirvana tribute livestream benefit for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund has surpassed $4 million.

The hour-plus-long digital concert, which originally streamed on his YouTube channel on April 24, featured Malone, Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, bassist Brian Lee, and guitarist Nick Mack cranking out covers of Nirvana classics like “Come As You Are,” “Heart-Shaped Box,” and “About A Girl,” as well as deep cuts from the legendary 1990s rock trio.

At last count, viewers had raised more than $4.3 million for the fundraiser, which has a target goal of $7.5 million.
