Dozens of Rochester businesses and musicians have worked together to organize an online music festival starting noon on Friday, April 3. Featured artists are a veritable who’s who of the local scene: Jimmie Highsmith, Mikaela Davis, Danielle Ponder, Ben Morey, Sarah Eide, and Jackson Cavalier, as well as members of some of the region’s best bands: Maybird, Giant Panda Guerrilla Dub Squad, The Moho Collective, and many more. See the full lineup below. Keeping with COVID-19 safety guidelines, all of the performances will be broadcast from separate spaces, and can be viewed collectively through a Greenstream site.
The festival is made possible through a partnership of several local businesses. Sponsors include radio station WZNE 94.1, music consortium Roc City Pro Jam, photographer/videographer Krit Upra, Floated: Alternative Culture Magazine, The Green Room studio, and Rochester Groovecast. Area venues sponsoring the festival are Three Heads Brewing, Lovin’ Cup, Abilene Bar and Lounge, Flour City Station, and Photo City Improv.
To foster online connectivity between “attendees” Rochester Groovecast is hosting a live chatroom on Zoom where fans and musicians can drop in and socialize during the festival.
