Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard unveiled a video featuring a solo acoustic version of “Short And Sweet.” The original song appears on Jaime, Howard’s 2019 debut studio album.
Brittany Howard released Jaime on September 20 and the 11-track LP shares its name with Brittany’s late sister, who died when the pair were teenagers. “The title is in memoriam, and she definitely did shape me as a human being,” explained Howard when Jaime was announced. “But, the record is not about her. It’s about me. I’m pretty candid about myself and who I am and what I believe. Which is why I needed to do it on my own.”
Howard and her solo band tour extensively in support of Jaime last year. More of the same was planned for 2020 until the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic began. Watch Brittany’s solo acoustic version of “Short And Sweet” below:
