MerleFest shared video of Greensky Bluegrass guitarist Dave Bruzza covering Doc Watson’s “All About You.” The clip is part of the festival’s Doc Watson Week.
Bluegrass legend Doc Watson helped to found MerleFest over 30 years ago in memory of his son, Eddy Merle Watson. Doc Watson died in 2012 and Doc Watson Week honors the man and his music. For the celebration, Greensky’s Dave Bruzza chose Watson’s “All About You” and shared some words on how inspirational the tune is to him.
“The first time I heard this song it inspired me to write my own tune similar to the melody,” he said. “It’s just so playful. What really got me is the way Doc sings! Nothing better than hearing him sing.”
