“Some of those who work forces, are the same that burn crosses.”

Rage Against The Machine‘s iconic protest anthem ‘Killing In The Name’ has been given a timely cover from Travis Barker and Machine Gun Kelly.

The pair have been participating in Black Lives Matter protests on the streets of LA following the murder of unarmed black man George Floyd, and the movement has inspired them to give RATM’s biggest song an update for 2020.

“They wrote this song in 1992. it’s been 28 years since, and every word still applies,” MGK posted on Twitter, linking to a black & white music video accompanying the pair’s rendition, featuring footage from the scene of the protests.

It appears as if the rapper enlisted Barker for the cover and turned it around in less than a day! Check it out below.

In the meantime, MGK isn’t shedding any tears for losing fans critical of his involvement in the demonstrations.

After tweeting, “On my way to the protest. See you out there,” one fan responded: “On my way to delete all your albums now.”

“Good, i don’t want your racist money,” MGK replied.

Elsewhere, Aussie rapper Briggs offered a powerful statement earlier this week, pointing out, “Australia has its own history of police brutality and indigenous deaths in custody. There have been more than 400 Indigenous deaths in custody, and not a single conviction”.
