Guitarist and singer Tash Neal, who is known primarily for his work in New York-based blues-rock outfit The London Souls, has released the debut single and its affiliated music video under his new creative moniker, TASH.
Entitled, “Something Ain’t Right”, the new song arrived to streaming platforms via Charge It To The Game Records late last month on June 26th, and hears the guitarist explore the current events taking over America’s social landscape this summer with the recent resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The uptempo song hears Tash mix retro funk and groove rock styles as he sings along with lyrics, “I know you’ve heard it all before/But you’ve opened up the door/To deal with what we’re going through” and “If your freedoms were ignored/And our wealth was never yours/We’d be playing on an equal field.” The song’s lyric video also features a mix of photos from recent protest marches alongside images of prominent African-American cultural figures including Al Sharpton, 1968 Olympians Tommie Smith and John Carlos, and civilians like George Floyd who were recently murdered at the hands of police.

“This is the most important and personal work I’ve done as of yet,” the guitarist mentioned in a statement to go with the song’s arrival. “I hit a breaking point a few years back after yet another televised murder of OUR people, and wrote this song through tears. On this journey, the writing started to become even more personal than before. This song/video seeks to not only validate OUR humanity (which SHOULD NOT need validating in 2020) as well as confront the truth and horror that America is founded on.”
