On August 31, 2014, after playing a show with Phish at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado, bassist Mike Gordon headed into nearby Denver where Leftover Salmon was performing at Cervantes’ with Little Feat keyboardist Bill Payne accompanying the band. Gordon also sat-in with Leftover Salmon that night, as did The Infamous Stringdusters’ dobro player Andy Hall on a performance of “Oh Atlanta” by Little Feat.

Gordon had performed “Oh Atlanta” with Phish when they covered Little Feat’s album, Waiting For Columbus, on Halloween 2010 in Atlantic City. Payne referenced the musical costume ahead of the collaboration in Denver.

“I want to thank my friend up here, Mike Gordon, for a couple of things,” Payne said with Gordon onstage. “For his band Phish for doing Waiting For Columbus a couple of Halloweens ago. It was a surprise to us and a beautiful surprise, so thank you brother, for that.”

Payne then led Gordon, Hall and LoS through “Oh Atlanta,” which can be viewed in the fan-shot video below:
