The Ghost Of Paul Revere Releases New Album, ‘Good At Losing Everything’ [Listen]

105

Holler folk trio The Ghost of Paul Revere has officially released their third full-length studio album, Good At Losing Everything.

Aiming to create a sense of community with their music, The Ghost of Paul Revere examine life’s ebbs and flows through a distinct and dynamic distillation of folk, bluegrass, rock, and alternative music on the new album. The collection finds the Maine-based band firing on all cylinders as they explore themes of triumph, loss, satisfaction, heartbreak and love.

“I didn’t realize how much the title of this record would resonate with the current times when we decided on the name,” guitarist/vocalist Griffin Sherry noted in a statement along with the album’s release. “Good At Losing Everything. Aren’t we though? With so much changing every day, aren’t we all now burdened with the idea of what was and what could be? This album is about change. About loss and vulnerability. We took chances, grew, but remembered where we came from. The Ghost has always been what we want it to be. I hope people listen, really listen, to this record as whole. It ebbs and flows between each of us, encapsulates a band at the edge of defying what defined us but one that still remembers who we were and what we can be.”

Good At Losing Everything is fueled by shimmering piano, sweeping guitar, soaring harmonies and punctuated by unrestrained rock ambition. As the band widened their creative palette to expand their sound, this collection of songs attracts an even bigger community, while bringing the inner circle of longtime fans closer than ever. While this marks their third record with engineer and producer Jonathan Wyman, it serves as their first collaboration with friend, producer, and co-writer Spencer Albee. The Maine trio [Max Davis (vocals, banjo), Sean McCarthy (vocals, bass) and Griffin Sherry (vocals, guitar)] also welcomed new members, drummer Chuck Gagne and multi-instrumentalist Jackson Kincheloe, as well as pianist Ben Cosgrove, into the fold to record.
