'In many cases I do' - Trump claims to know better than experts

Trump said on Wednesday that a vaccine for COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, could be ready for distribution ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

Hours earlier, Robert Redfield, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said a COVID-19 vaccine could be broadly rolled out by the middle of next year or a little later. Trump later disputed that.

“No I think he made a mistake when he said that,” Trump said, telling reporters he called Redfield. “That’s incorrect information….I believe he was confused. I think he just misunderstood the question, probably.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray on Thursday warned that Russia is interfering in the 2020 U.S. presidential elections with a steady steam of misinformation aimed at Democrat Joe Biden as well as sapping Americans’ confidence in the election process.

Trump took issue with that, too, and on Twitter sought to correct his own FBI director, tweeting, “But Chris, you don’t see any activity from China, even though it is a FAR greater threat than Russia, Russia, Russia. They will both, plus others, be able to interfere in our 2020 Election with our totally vulnerable Unsolicited (Counterfeit?) Ballot Scam. Check it out!”
